Does RICO's tachometer can be used as diesel tachometer?

RICO's 85mm 3 3/8" tachometer is designed for use on any engine equipped with an alternator, and only requires a simple connection to the electrical system to measure engine RPM.

The common RPM ranges 
0~4000RPM
0~8000RPM

Either diesel or gasoline can be used with the same style of tachomers below.
